It's blog-tastic!

So... I'm nearing the end of week four of Paper Heart Design being officially open for business! It is an exciting time in my life. I felt like I had been waiting... just waiting, for a year for the perfect teaching job to come... and it didn't. I'm tired of waiting, now it is time to do.

As silly as it is to take advice from a cookie, I have three fortunes taped to my computer monitor. I take time to read them daily and think positively about the growth of PHD. By the way, I like to refer to Paper Heart Design as PHD, because it's an awesome TLA.

Fortune 1: You're transforming yourself into someone who it certain to succeed.

Fortune 2: Everyone around you is rooting for you. Don't give up.

Fortune 3: Life is about making some things happen, not waiting for something to happen.

Smart cookies, huh?

So what is PHD? Well... it is a budding custom invitation, card and stationary business. My focus is wedding invitations and wedding packages. I'm working on some blank, thank you and holiday cards too, but the weddings are where it's at! At least that's where my heart is... it's a good place to keep the rest of yourself.

Yesterday was my first wedding invitation sale through Etsy in the name of PHD. It's been a great week! First, my brother got married this weekend and that was fabulous. I did all of the wedding invitations, programs, etc. and received a lot of compliments on my work. It gives me even more drive to do this.
