Oh, how I love doing custom wedding invitations!

Paper Heart Design has been thriving! I've been working with several brides on custom wedding invitation designs... and I just love it! I wish I could do all custom work. I just shipped out an order for customized love birds to Van Nueys, CA today. Check it out:

I also did a beautiful order of custom koi thank you cards in a bright blue and magenta color scheme for a bride in New York, NY. I love the way these came out:

February already?

Well it's February... My baby is almost three months old and I am loving being a stay at home mom! I'm not saying is easy and painless, but it's certainly the best job I've ever had. I think I'm pretty good at it too!

Paper Heart has had a mild start to the year, but that's fine by me since the little one still dominates my every waking moment besides her cat naps. I designed a save the date for a good friend of mine that I've known since middle school and have had several conversations with ladies on Etsy. I'm just waiting on approval or payment on a few to get things rolling.

I also received an order for 2 sets of 8 of these beauties:
Hello There Birdie Blank Card (set of 8)

I'm still working on the rebranding of the company. It's fun, but there is much to be done! I'm working on it slowly and will put up pics of how everything turns out.

I also have a new friend with a new Etsy shop! Her name is Jennifer and we are both Mommies to November 2010 babies. We met on the baby center web site when I commented on how adorable her son's hat was. She opened up her shop recently and I ordered my first hat today!

Custom Order - Annie (littlegreen1313) - Pink & Purple Brim hat with flower
Seriously, how cute is this?!

I'm sure I'll continue to brag about all the awesome stuff I buy from other fellow Etsy-ers as time goes on :) Everyone stay warm out there!

Back and blogging!

A lot has happened since my last post... in 2008. Apparently I'm a blogging slacker. I'm sticking with it this time because I see the value in it now and I have more time to focus on Paper Heart.

I left my full time job back in November 2010 with the privilege of being a stay at home mom with our first child, born on the 16th. I'm loving being a Mommy and even though it is exhausting it is so rewarding to see her growing and learning every day! It's such a joy. This has also afforded me the opportunity to sink some more time into my small business and see if I can really get things cranking.

Since I started things up with Etsy in 2008 I have been working and creating with PHD in addition to a full time job. Even so I have made over 130 sales in 35 different states and in 4 countries. I also haven't had a job that I like as much as I like this. I started the business when I was the manager of a Sears Portrait Studio, then I was a substitute teacher, typesetter and in finally did business development. Each job got a little better as they came, but I love this. This is more play than work! I'm very much looking forward to growing my business and continuing to do what I love, all while being able to stay home and raise my daughter the way my husband and I always wanted to.

2011 is looking to be the best year yet not only for PHD, but for life in general.
