Back and blogging!

A lot has happened since my last post... in 2008. Apparently I'm a blogging slacker. I'm sticking with it this time because I see the value in it now and I have more time to focus on Paper Heart.

I left my full time job back in November 2010 with the privilege of being a stay at home mom with our first child, born on the 16th. I'm loving being a Mommy and even though it is exhausting it is so rewarding to see her growing and learning every day! It's such a joy. This has also afforded me the opportunity to sink some more time into my small business and see if I can really get things cranking.

Since I started things up with Etsy in 2008 I have been working and creating with PHD in addition to a full time job. Even so I have made over 130 sales in 35 different states and in 4 countries. I also haven't had a job that I like as much as I like this. I started the business when I was the manager of a Sears Portrait Studio, then I was a substitute teacher, typesetter and in finally did business development. Each job got a little better as they came, but I love this. This is more play than work! I'm very much looking forward to growing my business and continuing to do what I love, all while being able to stay home and raise my daughter the way my husband and I always wanted to.

2011 is looking to be the best year yet not only for PHD, but for life in general.
